The Heritage Garden at the Westerson Cabin at the Cochrane Ranche is planted and maintained by enthusiastic members of the society. Check out our slide show next page to see all the fun you are missing.
We have come a long way from this initial 2011 plot plan. In 2012 most of the Heritage Garden was destroyed when the cabin was renovated and so we had to begin again!
The Society gathers en masse every spring and fall for clean-up & mulching. The date for for this year's spring clean up was Thursday, May 11th. We enjoy weeding and gardening together. After the winter months, tidying up The Heritage Garden is a great sign that Spring has sprung!
Planting of Red and White Flowers for Canada 150 - June 1
Thank you to Cdn Tire & Anything Grows for their donations toward the Canada 150 planting. Thank you to the seven members who worked very hard for two hours to plant them, mulch the garden and plant additional perennials. The Gardens look great for the 1st farmers market on Saturday June 3. In addition, we were also able to donate some perennials and annuals to the CCG's perennial bed. Well done everyone!
Throughout the summer, members maintain the garden on behalf of the Town of Cochrane. If you missed the sign-up sheet which we circulate at our meetings in Spring, contact us at:
